MOTHER'S WORRY

Ed Roth's Mother's Worry

I picked this model up on a whim. The tax return had just come in and the family and I were out shopping. We were in Toy Warehouse I was hoping that they would have some Polar Lights kits, or maybe the Godzilla kit that I had passed on a couple of times. Needless to say, they didn't have anything like that. My son and I were looking through some of the car kits for him and I found this behind one of them. It had a clearance sticker on it for $5. I figured $5, why not give it a shot? It's sorta like a monster.
So far it's been the best $5 I've spent in a long time.  I'm about half way done assembling this one. There was very little flash to take care of (always a plus). The parts fit great. One of the few drawbacks is that there is no tread on the tires. Also the tires are just one piece plastic, no rubber tire on a plastic rim. I thought about treading the front tires at least, then decided not to. This one is more for fun than detailing for me. I like to get a model every now and then that I just slap together and paint without sweating the details too much.
Another plus is that I finally got around to getting some more paint. Purple was not in my color pallet when I got this model, so of course I ended up ordering about 15 more colors for my kits.
This is definitely not a beginer kit. You have to be pretty good at lining up the parts, and there are no alignment pins.

Finaly done. This was really fun to paint. What other kit is gonna be painted purple, yellow, red, and blue? I didn't follow the box art exactly. Instead of just purple, or just blue, I went with two-toned on both. Makes the jeans look kinda like stone-washed. I base coated everything flat black and went from there. I let the black show through a little in a few places. That created some nice effects on the cloths and hair.
