Seminars
At the seminars we learn single short sword,
double short sword, long sword and dagger/knife drills.
Take-downs, weapon strips, pressure points, joint locks, and
sticky leg drills.
As you can see, that is a lot to cover. Usually we don't get to
all of them in one day. We cover a few of them and get pretty
indeapth, then will just touch on a few others to become familiar
with them.
The way it works, is they will set a day, and
we all meet at Hank and Bunny's. They are the gracious hosts.
They have a great place a short distance from the faire. If the
weather is bad, then we train indoors in one of Hanks many
garages on the property. If it is nice, we train outside.
Everyone brings a dish for our lunch, and Turk usually brings
chicken.
We start at 9:30 and train until 12:00 (with a couple short
breaks in there)
Break for lunch from 12:00 - 1:30
Train again from 1:30 - 4:00. (again with a short break or two)
Classes are great for beginners or more advanced students. We
never really cover the same stuff from one seminar to another. I
brought a friend of mine, and 2 of his children to the 2nd one,
and they had a blast and learned tons of stuff.
All this for only $20 per person.
What a sweet deal. A whole day of training and hanging out having
fun!
If you want to know more, or see when the next one is, keep an eye on this thread on my faire board
(note: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th link to Roxanne's site, as I don't have any pictures myself)
